When we first opened the doors to Thyme to Taste back in 2012 as a small cafe, we had a simple dream: to champion great food, exceptional drinks, and local producers. Even when we expanded and launched the Emporium in the middle of 2020 (right in the thick of COVID!), our mission didn’t change.
These days, it’s easy to get lost in a sea of massive, corporate-owned bottle shops where every shelf looks exactly the same, no matter what town you’re in. But we pride ourselves on being a truly independent, community bottle shop.
Because we aren’t tied down by corporate contracts, we have the total freedom to stock what you love and what our incredible region actually produces. We taste everything ourselves (someone has to do it!), hand-selecting the very best Canberra District wines, independent beers, craft spirits, and cheese to bring directly to Yass and Murrumbateman.

George, Clarel and Matt. George smashed the call over a year ago, so thanks for his patience. After George drank his way through he then took a year off (not to recover). So new challenges for George this time around.
Sparkling🍾🥂
We’ve landed on some new sparkling wines from the region, local sparkling from Dionysus and Vineyard 1207. Come on down and grab a bottle. I find sparkling perfect in front of the fire where we can dream about warmer days. But if warming up is your main concern, then we have in stock the Dog Trap Road Mongrel Mulled Wine. So tasty and so easy to put together, just slowly warm with the spice bag and when it starts to smell amazing turn off the heat and pour into glasses. 🍷🍊
