Boatrocker Foeder Jaune Wild Grape Ale (375ml)

Is it a wild ale, or is it a natural wine wearing a tuxedo? Boatrocker’s Foeder Jaune makes its triumphant third return, bridging the worlds of barrel-aged brewing and premium Victorian viticulture.

For this special release, Boatrocker took a complex wild base beer aged in their historic, 100+ year-old oak foeder and dosed it with a heavy percentage of Savagnin grape marc from their mates at Crittenden Estate Winery on the Mornington Peninsula. The result is a beautifully complex, lightly hazy yellow drop that drinks like a cross between a fine white wine and a French farmhouse cider. It balances a funky, rustic sourness with notes of ripe apricot, zesty lemon, and a bold grape presence. Supremely dry, quenching, and boasting a lively, champagne-like effervescence, this 9.2% ABV masterpiece is a sophisticated treat that absolutely demands to be poured into a flute.
